Flash Floods in Rajgarh Ramban: Two Dead, Seven Missing
Rajgarh, Ramban — A severe cloudburst in Rajgarh tehsil of Ramban district on August 27, 2024, has led to devastating flash floods, leaving at least seven individuals missing and two confirmed dead. The heavy rainfall has severely impacted the region, causing widespread damage and complicating rescue efforts.
According to local officials, the two deceased individuals have been identified as Khalid Ahmed, aged 12, and Yasir Ahmed, aged 20. Khalid was the son of Haji Sajjad Ahmed Parihar, a resident of Suli Kamait, while Yasir was the son of Bagh Din Gujjar from Gadgram Rajgarh. The bodies of both men were recovered from the flooded nallahs, with Khalid’s body retrieved on the evening of August 27 and Yasir’s on the morning of August 28.

- Gulshan Begum (42), wife of Haji Sajjad Ahmed Parihar
- Seerat Banoo (age unknown), daughter of Haji Sajjad Ahmed Parihar
- Qazia Banoo (6), daughter of Sajjad Ahmed, resident of Dungar Dandllah
- Naseema Begum, wife of Bagh Din Gujjar
- Shazia Banoo, daughter of Bagh Din Gujjar
Tehsildar Rajgarh Major Singh, who is overseeing the rescue operations, reported that efforts are being carried out by a combined team of police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers. The rescue teams have been working tirelessly in challenging conditions as additional rains have compounded the difficulties.
Major Singh emphasized that the focus remains on locating and retrieving the missing individuals. The ongoing rainfall is expected to further complicate the rescue operations, but teams are dedicated to continuing their efforts despite the adverse weather conditions.
